From this spot, you get a wonderful view over Valehouse Reservoir, a beautiful lake in Longdendale. Built between 1865-1869 as part of the Longdendale chain, it supplies water from the River Etherow to Greater Manchester.

Bottoms Reservoir

Highlight • Structure

This is an easy circular walk around a pretty reservoir in the Peak District. There's a nice footpath running around the lake with fine views along the way.
The walk starts from the little village of Tintwistle which is located just to the north of the water. From here you can pick up the Etherow Goyt Valley Way

Bottoms Reservoir and Fountain

Highlight • Structure

One of a series of reservoirs along the valley and along the route of the NCN 68 (Pennine Cycleway). The reservoir is at the southern end of the Longendale Path.

Bottoms Reservoir has an interesting fountain system to cope with excess pressure when the water level is too high, known as Bottoms Fountain.
