View of Quainton village from Quainton Hill

Highlight • Viewpoint

Overlooking the idyllic village of the same name, Quainton Hill rises to 610 feet (186 m) above the surrounding countryside. Along with neighbouring Conduit Hill, it offers glorious views. From here you can gaze back down towards the village, where you'll find the tallest windmill in the country, as well as a smashing pub for afterwards.

Climb to the Radio Mast, Chiltern Hills

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

Long, steep climb up through the sheep field with a defined track for cyclists. It's grass so likely to be slippery when wet, I rode it on a dry day in the summer. Not technical (I was on a CX bike with mud tyres) but definitely a test for the legs lungs. Worth the effort, the views at the top are stunning and you could be mistaken for being in the Peaks. The Chilterns really is underrated as a UK destination for cycling and walking. The benefit of this is we had the place to ourselves except a few cattle grazing over the other side.

Quinton Church

Highlight • Religious Site

3.72 km

Situated on the village green in Quainton, the George and Dragon can cater for many needs. As well as being a pub that serves great home cooked food, it is also a coffee house and a village store.

So whether you're stocking up for the day ahead, popping in for a slice of cake or settling in after a long walk in the Buckinghamshire countryside, this place has got you covered. Not only this, there's a lovely view of Quainton Windmill. What's not to love?
