Lake Itzelberg

Highlight • Lake

The Itzelberger See is a beautiful local recreation area. There is a lot to discover. The animal world is diverse. Directly at the lake is also a miniature golf course with catering, where you can stay with a drink and snack. Also at the lake the Hotel Seeblick. You can enjoy very good cuisine there. If you want it easier, you can have a drink or snack at a snack bar on the opposite bank. It is definitely worth making a detour to the lake.

There are lots of big trout under the wooden bridge. The bridge itself is an eye-catcher, on which always something is going on.

On the weekend, this place is sometimes very crowded, so it is recommended to visit the Brenzersprung during the week. The water is very clear. Has something mystical.

A short tour before heading home.
The Brenztopf was the destination.
Parked at the old monastery complex in Königsbronn, we headed toward Itzelbergersee. Oh, how beautiful it was there. The 🌞 was shining, the swans were swimming on the lake. Simply beautiful, you could stay there. Elvis was there too. Who stole his guitar?🙊
We continued on. We climbed a …

Entertaining route along the Bretz from the source to the lake, the hill to the castle ruins can also be avoided

The hike in cool weather was interesting, from Königsbronn train station to Itzelbergersee. The circular walk then climbed to the Herwartstein Castle ruins and then back down to Königsbronn to the source of the Brenz River with its hammer forge was well worth a visit. Coincidentally, the "Märktle" (small market) was also located in Königsbronn, which we also visited.

Today we wanted to enjoy the sun announced in the weather report and explore something new.

What can I say...we explored, but we didn't have much sun.☁️ On the contrary - it drizzled even longer in between. 🌧

But to see the divers in the Brenztopf, the castle ruins and the Itzelhofer See - despite the drizzling weather it was …

Today I walked the "Brenzquellrunde" with my 81-year-old mother. She had wanted to go to Itzelberger See for a while, so this was the perfect route 😊

The tour is from the following website:

A short afternoon walk. I actually wanted to go for a longer hike, but when it started pouring again at 9:00 a.m. 🌧🌧🌧 I took care of my housework first 🤗

We started in Königsbronn at the parking lot near the Herwartsteinhalle. The trail led us past the Georg Elser Memorial and the baroque town hall to the source of the Brenzer River. Stairs and steep paths led us up to the Herwartstein ruins. From there, we enjoyed a beautiful view of Königsbronn.

After we had a good meal in Heidenheim, it made sense to continue to Königsbronn and do a little digestive round.
