Traditional half-timbered farmhouses in Altes Land

Highlight • Historical Site

Old fruit farms line the paths along the Este, some farms have very stately entrance portals and many facades have been sensationally restored and shine splendidly.

View of the Elbe River

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Elberadwanderweg leads directly along the Elbe. The alternation between low and high tide is interesting. The ships are impressive.
There is always a place for a quiet break along the way.

A beautiful bike ride from Buxtehude to Stade and back. From Buxtehude through the town of Jork, always along the dike between vast orchards and the Elbe River. The destination was the Hanseatic city of Stade with its beautiful harbor and old half-timbered houses. After a stop at a lovely café, we returned to Buxtehude. The approximately 60 km journey …

Hey,
a beautiful bike ride today 🚴🚴 highly recommended 👍. Some of it was already familiar to us, but what we discovered today was truly perfect 😉. Lots of nature, older houses, and many beautiful bike paths, except for one stretch that runs a little longer along the road. But hey, whatever, the bike path was perfectly smooth, the new …

Today it was a bike tour combined with the 9€ ticket. I took the S-Bahn to Stade and from there via Twielenfleth and Jork back to Buxtehude. Bright blue skies but almost always headwind. Do any of you know why the headwind is always particularly strong in the last few kilometers? 🙄😀

The tour was generally relaxing. The ride from Stade to Buxtehude, apart from a small stretch of forest, was all through fields and past the railway line. Not as thrilling, but a good ride. Recommendation: occasionally leave the route and cycle into the towns.

Here a short climb, there a little hill.

Another round from the "Altes Land" tourism.
In the best weather, we set off from Stade, always along the railway line to Horneburg. A great stretch of the route. Then we cycled a little along the Lühe and through the apple orchards to Jork and Buxtehude. The cherry blossom was already over, but the apple blossom was in full swing …
