West ascent to the Streitberg from Ettenheimmünster

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

The driveway is good with a fairly even slope. Pulls something in the length. The Streitberg is known for its exposed central location as a hub to reach other valleys and other mountains.

Gradient of approx. 7% initially straight and then over two switchbacks, and soon you can see the Gasthaus Kreuz.

Geisberg Summit

Highlight • Summit

At the highest point of the Geisberg you reach 681 meters. The Geisberg can be cycled from Steinach (quite long, sometimes steep), from Schweighausen (not long, but steep towards the end) or from Elzach (long, slightly steeper towards the end). You can only reach the highest point if you turn up again at the top of the pass on the Schweighausen-Welschensteinach road (towards Biederbach). There is a wonderful view over the Elztal and the mountains behind it on one side and in the direction of the Kinzigtal on the other side.

Hoher Geisberg

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Short mountain road between Hohen Geisberg and Höhenhäuser, about 3km.
After the Höhenhäuser Gasthaus Kreuz pass (666m), a beautiful 7km descent to Elzach in the beautiful Elztal, which lies between Waldkirch and Landwassereck.
From Elzach there is the option to extend the tour. Either via the town of Oberprechtal towards Landwassereck to Gutach (Gutachtal) or from the town of Oberprechtal turn right on a partially narrow connecting road (10km) to the Wilhelmshöhe guesthouse (970m) up (up to 12%) on the Westweg (gateway to the Blindensee (990m), via the Rohrhardsberg car park.
Then a long descent via the winter sports resort of Schonach to Triberg or in Schonach turn right up the Langenwaldschanze to Schönwald and further to the Escheck pass (guesthouse) and further down to Furtwangen.
In Furtwangen you can extend the tour to the Neueck pass (B500) and down back via Gütenbach, Obersimonswald to Bleibach, back to the Elztal!!

Highlight • Mountain Pass

At the "pass height" there is a very inviting inn if the food you brought with you is no longer sufficient.

A pure road tour with traffic, but it was easy to bear. Up to the Pflingteck it is very moderate. The descent into the Schuttertal is fun. But the miserable ascent begins immediately with uncomfortable steep sections through Schweighausen to the highest point on the Geisberg.
I try to do that every year. Uff, we did it again! 🥵😬

Super nice weather, a bit of wind 25° what more could you want 😊

This afternoon, I decided to take a short ride on the small roads.
The light was phenomenal, and the wind was very demanding.
I recommend following along.
