April 16, 2023,🔁🚶🏼‍♂️ Dormagen-Stürzelberg • Zonser Grind – Feste Zons
It's not going so well this year... Now that the Corona epidemic had caught us, after three weeks of recovering and unfortunately still suffering from bronchial congestion, we went on our first easy walk again in the flat land on the left side of the Lower Rhine. Nothing really exciting, but it was enough for a start. I'm really hoping …

Round on the doorstep: Zonser Grind. The sun 🌞 as a talkative companion was with us. The campsites are still empty because the season doesn't start until April. The silence is broken by the chirping of birds and the humming of tankers. Beautiful tour along the Rhine. Annoying then only the piece from Zons back to Stürzelberg. I walked on …

Through Zons to the Rhine. Wanted to go to the other side of the Rhine, but the ferry is not running due to low water levels, so I walked along the Rhine through Zonser Grind to Stürzelberg.

It was supposed to snow 😃.
To enjoy the snowy landscape, I took the bus to Stürzelberg.
From here on the snow-covered asphalted and paved paths through the Zonser Grind, along the Rhine to the Zons Fortress.
Took the bus home here.

Today we started in Stürzelbach and walked to Zons to the St. Nicholas market. This only takes place today and tomorrow in the old Friedestrom castle complex. The entire castle complex invites you to the medieval Christmas market. At the entrance you are greeted by the knights en various delicacies including handcrafted and regional products.
We went back along the …

Finally on the Rhine🥾 Friedestrom Castle near Dormagen-Zons.
The end, through the old town at the castle and the beginning ~ 4 km along the Rhine, were great, the rest just asphalt 🤦🏼 ♂️ So basically not recommended.
But we still enjoyed the wonderful 🌞 weather.
