March 29, 2025,Der Bergische Weg - Deutschlands schönster Wanderweg 2024 - Tag 3
We're dividing the third and fourth stages into three. The suggested routes are already very long in winter.

The tour is suitable for a Germany ticket. It begins at the S-Bahn station in Haan-Gruiten and ends in Wülfrath-Düssel. From there a bus leaves every half hour (weekdays).
The route often leads along the Düssel and is well signposted.

... We return to the terrain we love most on the Bergischer Weg. Narrow, green paths await us along the Düssel River, which gently rippled along our last tour. We continue through fields and along narrow paths along the edge of the forest. The freshly furrowed fields already herald the autumn sowing of winter grain. ...

I actually finished the Neanderland Trail a long time ago. ☑️ However, I only got komoot after I'd already hiked three stages. So those weren't recorded at the time, and the incomplete collection is really bothering me, so I'm gradually closing the loop. 🤣🙈 (Anyone else feel it?)

It was cold, wet and windy. But it was a wonderful stage.

A wonderful start to the Neanderland Trail. Many beautiful forest and field paths, and in the last third, a good stretch straight ahead across meadows and fields on narrow trails or even sections of asphalt. This allowed our eyes to wander into the distance. We enjoyed nature on our hike and stopped in Düssel for coffee and cake at Café …

New year - new path

This year the Neandersteig will be tackled, which we are really looking forward to. After all, the Bergische Weg often met the Neandersteig on the first stages, and so we already know which great stages and sections are waiting for us.

Statler & Waldorf and their new project... No, actually the new project was supposed to be something completely different, but for weather and seasonal reasons we decided to first hike the full length of the neanderland STEIG on our doorstep. It is funny that we both already know every meter of this 240 km total distance, we have already visited …
