Ebnisee

Highlight • Lake

The Ebnisee in the Swabian Forest is always a nice destination. In summer you can bathe in the lake with the dreamy backdrop. If you prefer to stay dry, you can rent a pedal boat or rowing boat. Several cozy beer gardens on the shore are ideal for resting and stopping off.

Wooden Bridge at Klingenmühle

Highlight • Bridge

Unfortunately, the bridge and the rest of the beautiful hiking trail no longer exist. A storm destroyed the entire Wieslauf Gorge in June 😱😢. Trees are lying all over the place and entire slopes have slipped. The gorge is no longer easily passable 😕

Wieslauf Gorge Waterfall

Highlight (Segment) • Waterfall

A hike through the Wieslauf Gorge on narrow, slippery paths, some of which run directly alongside steep cliffs, is adventurous, at times even difficult. However, this makes the Wieslauf Gorge a unique and exciting experience. The Klingenmühle mill, beautifully nestled in the green forest, and a waterfall cascading over several tiers are further impressive highlights.

Strümpfelbach Valley Nature Reserve

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

Simple and ingenious, as with relatively simple technology, the water pooled from several sources was pumped for decades from here out of the valley up to a 103 meters higher reservoir. Driven only by the help of the brook water and without any electricity, until 1938 it supplied the village of Althütte, which at that time had a population of 320 souls, with drinking water at up to 63 liters per minute.

June 3, 2023,Wieslaufschlucht – Strümpfelbacher-Wasserfall Runde von Laufenmühle
Super nice tour. Mainly in the forest and along the water. Therefore also recommended in hot weather. Just enjoy nature! Small waterfalls, bridges, paths and pure nature. The Ebnisee then invites you to eat and drink. Or just to cool off. After that comes a nice way to finish the tour.

The tour was on May 1st. We went to Welzheim. The plan was to go to the Wieslaufschlucht. But ☝☝ there was something there. It's closed because of the floods last year. OK, something should be done there. Lots of brave hikers who took on the challenge went through the gorge. We followed. Some gave up. Yvonne and I made …

We hiked towards spring past steep mountain slopes in the Welzheim Forest, strewn with white-flowering wood anemones, yellow celandine and yellow primroses. Today we hiked towards spring with the BuH group from DAV Aalen. We decorated the clear streams with yellow marsh marigolds and saw mills and locks, nostalgic and stylish Experienced small, renovated railway stations and mud paths that …

Very nice hike in the Swabian-Franconian forest. The paths are demanding, slippery due to the very damp and boggy ground and you have to be careful not to smear 😅 There are many wooden stairs and bridges installed to make it easier to walk.

Today I kidnapped my dear mom to the Welzheim Forest, I just loved it there so much.
We started at Ebnisee at a fortunately free parking lot, first we went to the Voggenhöfe, where two shaggy cattle suddenly came towards us. Luckily for us, they weren't interested in us and instead turned off to their pasture. Now we reached the …

It all started with the adventure trail, which was amazing, also saw deer. I didn't know what was coming. On the way back, an old lady spoke to me, around 90 years old, because she saw that I was looking for the way where I would like to go. I said back to the car at the Klingenmühle parking lot. …
