Manor House Blankensee

Highlight • Historical Site

The Blankensee manor house, also Sudermann's refuge, built in the Brandenburg Baroque style, with its unity of house and park is an example of the manor house complexes in the 18th and 19th centuries in Brandenburg. It was bought at the beginning of the 20th century by the writer Hermann Sudermann, who transformed the outdoor areas into a historical garden. During his travels in Italy and southern Germany he acquired busts, vases and sculptures that can still be admired in the park today. With its romantic paths and enchanted atmosphere, it is ideal for a short detour on a hike or just a walk.

Blankensee Castle and Park

Highlight • Castle

The Schloss Blankensee, also called Sudermannhaus, is a manor house. It was built between 1701 and 1740 in the style of the Mark Baroque, supposedly on the foundations of an old castle, for a Saxon district captain (Christian von Thümen). It is located in the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park near Trebbin, about 20 km south of Potsdam. (Source: reiseland-brandenburg.de)

February 14, 2024,24. Tour 66 Seenwanderweg Trebbin nach Stücken
Today I ran this stage in continuous drizzle. It's actually beautiful, unfortunately everything was closed, whether the tower, cafes or church :-D wonderfully through a lot of forest, the 500 m (according to the book) expressway seemed like 300 to us, that wasn't bad. Only Trebbin, we found that really horrible.

The 608 bus runs from Michendorf train station to Stücken every 2 hours on weekends.
From Trebbin you can take the train back to Berlin every hour.
You can find more tours of the European hiking trail E10 in my collection "European long-distance hiking trail E10" komoot.de/collection/1419989/-europaeischer-fernwanderweg-e10.

You come across the 66-lakes hiking trail one day, tell people about it, and your dear colleagues give you the travel guide from Trescher-Verlag as a gift. Challenge accepted: The 66-lakes trail leads around Berlin for around 400 km. We won't do it all at once, but a few kilometers at a time. We don't do it strictly in order, …
