I associate two things with Bad Doberan: the Molli railway and this gigantic, former monastery complex with the cathedral as the centre. A masterpiece of North German Brick Gothic!

The entire complex offers an impressive panorama, just sit on the bench and enjoy it all. We did that when we chose Bad Doberan as the destination of our bike tour. This facility can compete with the monastery complex in Dobbertin, which is now operated by the Diakoniewerk Dobbertin. Also a highlight of the Brick Gothic and history of this country.

If you don't want to cycle and happen to be in Kühlungsborn or want to go there, take the Molli train. There is no more beautiful combination of railway romance and North German brick Gothic.
