Scenic Road via Sedlo and Breginj

Wonderful and lonely road over Breginj and back to the country border with Italy. From Breginj the surface is much worse, the 3km descent to the border are hard work with the road bike, more than 10-20 km / h are hardly in it. Only one car was visible on the section. Kobarid, or Caporetto in Italian, is a small lively town on the Soča River. The best known point is "Napoleon's bridge" where the Napoleonic troops marched and it is a truly spectacular place. Kobarid was one of the most important partisan recruitment centers for the fight against Italian fascism. The battles that occurred here in the First and Second World Wars are documented in the Kobarid museum.

Linden Avenue Between Kobarid and Staro Selo

A special experience when visiting the municipality is offered by the roadside linden tree line, which winds all the way from Kobarid to Stare Selo. It was planted in 1936 by the dictator Mussolini. The approximate length of the avenue is 4 km, it consists mainly of linden (Tilia sp.) and horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L.). It is considered one of the longest in Slovenia. Today it is protected as a natural landmark.

Heavy thunderstorm yesterday evening / night. Today the wind was too strong to start with the paraglider. Therefore rode my bike again this afternoon. Enclosed pictures of the beautiful area here in Slovenia (Kobarid)
