Whenever I come to Runkelstein, I always feel transported to a wonderful ancient world, which shows that the Middle Ages, often denounced as dark, can be so radiant.
Even though the buildings and frescoes here were erected out of ambitious ambition, the Vintler merchant brothers wanted to use them to establish their rise to the nobility.

A city worth seeing is Bolzano. We mainly wanted to see Ötzi and combined a visit to the museum with a stroll through town.

You can park in the Runkelstein Castle car park. From here you can stroll along the water wall promenade to the city center.
