Stone Creek Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

The falls are the most popular section of the park, expect to see many other visitors. The falls are semicircular and for a ring around a pool that flows into scenic Stone Creek.

Otoe Coaster

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

A very fun trail, some of my favorites on the west side. The surface is hard and fast but knobs don’t really bite, lean in!. There are some steep ups and downs that are really fast and fun. A few jumps with long clear landings.

Lincoln Journal Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

From the observation tower you are treated to a panorama of the river and surrounding forest. The tower is eleven stories high and has a wide accommodating platform at the top with 360 degree views.

Owens Crossing.

Highlight • Bridge

A nice spot for a break between the two riding areas. Grass, shade, picnic tables.

For the brave

Highlight • MTB Park

A little section for the stuntmen. A few different lines and two wall rides for those who like going parallel to earth. Hard packed trails get you plenty of speed. Caution, help is a long way off.

The east side of the park is more geared to mountain bikers and features a challenging network of flowing singletrack. In 2012 an additional 46 acres of trails were completed on this side of the park. A skills track near the trailhead will help test riders ability before hitting the rest of the trails.

The eastern half of Platte River State Park has many highly rated mountain biking trails that may also be used by mindful hikers. The trails crisscross over one another and it is difficult to follow any specific path, but if you keep an eye on the map you won't get lost. There are plenty of small trails that let you customize the duration of your hike.

A challenging ride. Many places were as steep as a roller coaster with a climb just as high on the other side. Full gas on the way down to avoid the push on the way up!
