Riez is a small, quiet village in the Verdon Regional Natural Park, located 525 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mont Sainte-Maxime. It is very pleasant to walk in its small colorful alleys and to take a break in the shade of the many hundred-year-old plane trees that can be found there. Fountains are freely available if you ever need to replenish your water reserves.

Col d'Espinouse (838 m)

Cimbing from the South is probably the easier choice. With only 838 meters it's a rather low Col but a nice excursion. There are comments here on Komoot saying it's only 2% avergae increase from both sides, which is not correct. Whilst from the South you have quite a few portions wiht low incline you also get your 7% plus especially near the top! Did the north to decent and felt that this needs quite some attention as the road is very narrow with the occasional car driving up and very sharp curves. If you don't like this type of decent you'll be constantly in the brakes. Which is not much fun really.
