View of the Calanque d'En-Vau

Highlight • Viewpoint

From here, the view of the En-Vau cove is breathtaking. Perched above this cove in the Cassis coves, this perspective offers an idyllic panorama of the white cliffs plunging into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The contrasts between the rock, the sea and the sky create a magical atmosphere, ideal for nature and photography lovers. You are close to the Piolet refuge.

Highlight • River

Attention: The "black route" (tracé noir) at Plage d'En Veau is NOT an official route! It's very steep, not a bit secured, and the markings are very sparse. Finding the way can lead to extremely dangerous spots and dead ends. NEVER go up there in rain or wet conditions!

Cassis Harbour

Highlight • Settlement

The port of Cassis is a place on a human scale where it is good to stroll. Colorful facades, numerous restaurants and cafés and small fishing boats add to the charm of the place. In summer or during school holidays, however, it can get very crowded.

May 26, 2022,Belvédère – Plage d'En Vau Runde von Cassis Camping mit einem abstecher in die Old Town
We left the Cassis campsite. At the first bay you have to be there early to get a shady place. The climb to the second bay offers little shade and is very crowded but with beautiful views. We didn't go down to the second mountain because it wasn't possible with a child. A lot of exposed places and extremely overcrowded. …

Very nice but strenuous tour. Partially exposed terrain, sturdy shoes necessary (trekking shoes at best sturdy hiking sandals), water (1.5 -2 liters) is a must and provisions recommended.
Views and swimming in the calanques make up for the arduous journey!

beautiful walk with Ruth in the Marseille-Calonques near Cassis over the plateaux down to the bay d'en veau....partly quite challenging path down into the gorge..whole round with fabulous views🤩🍀☀️

Lt. Rother hiking guide 6th edition, it is a blue tour. Well, the descent to Calenque d'En Vau is quite a climb, but doable. It's only a short walk. On the way back the recording went on strike. In any case, take the blue marked path with the great views.

You should be able to climb a bit at one point or another 😅

Today we went on a truly spectacular beach hike. With a fjord-like feel, stunning beaches, rugged cliffs, and the blazing sun above us. It really took its toll on us at the end; it was so unbearably hot. But we also took a total of 4 hours to swim ☺️
And unfortunately, that was our farewell to the sea 😢 …

A part of the track proposed by the application indicates a path that does not actually exist (about 200 m of cliff).

Magnificent hike but extremely busy despite the season (October)! Extremely tricky trails because of the polished stones and rocks that litter the various trails due to the very very very high number of people! Bring real hiking shoes or walking poles if you have them!
Despite all this, it is worth the detour!
