Today I was drawn once again to a part of the Rur that has been left completely natural, around Lake Barmen. I started in Jülich and hiked the entire Jülich part. You do pass the A44 and hike a long way along a country road, but as soon as you head towards Barmen the pristine nature of the Rur makes …
