Path Along the Göhl Below Eyneburg (Emmaburg)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Below the Eyneburg / Emmaburg, this path leads partly through the forest on the Göhl, a climbing rock, an old fence and the casino pond between Kelmis and Hergenrath.

There are quite a few to see when driving.

Bench With View of Henri-Chapelle

Highlight • Viewpoint

The bank is almost always in the shade and is nice for a break. The view towards Henri-Chapelle is great. Chickens are cackling and the rooster is crowing in the background. Sometimes a chicken darts past you. Really relaxing.

Cycle Path to Belgium

Highlight • Cycleway

Qualitatively predominantly high-quality cycle path - be careful at individual junctions, it could be better (if you know the cycle paths in the Netherlands, you know why), but very good for German and Belgian conditions.

August 7, 2024,Flandern Tour Vorspiel, Aachen - Welkenraedt
My Flanders bike tour starts in Aachen.

As the DB doesn't run trains with bike compartments to Belgium, I cycle in the drizzle across the German-Belgian border to Welkenraedt.
The train will soon be leaving there and I need to find a quick place to put my bike. I don't know where to put it. I'm standing between two train …

The Belgian railway is really nice... there is an announcement in 4 languages that the 🚆 cannot continue because it is too late 🙈.
So my tour did not go from Eupen but from Welkenraedt to Aachen... it doesn't matter, it was dry again.
In parts the cycle path looked like it was in England, so everything was fine.
