Visible from afar, Sigmundskron Castle sits enthroned on the rock. Today, the historic walls house Reinhold Messner's MMM Firmian, the headquarters of a fascinating museum project. It's well worth a visit!

Very well developed bike path, easy to drive, great views.

Tour to the YouTube video:

Today the tour takes me from Saltusio, above Meran, further south on the Via Claudia Augusta. The cycle paths are also well developed away from the Via Claudia Augusta.
Once again the search for a campsite is futile and I keep an eye out for possible spots for wild camping during the tour.

Today we cycled the Adige Cycle Path from Lana to Bozen. The goal was clear... stroll across the market and then off to Ötzi. We shortened the waiting time in line in front of the archeology museum with an ice cream. The entire exhibition is well prepared and suitable for the whole family. On the way back there was a …

A very good developed route. Easy to drive. When we arrived in Bolzano at the cathedral we went for an ice cream and walked through the old town. Then back to Merano. What is a bit unpleasant is that you constantly drive along a green fence that separates the tracks from the bike path. Nevertheless, the Claudia Augusta is a …

A beautiful cycle path along the Adige. There are hardly any meters in altitude to overcome on the route from Meran to Bolzano. The cycle path is very well signposted up to the beginning of Bolzano. However, until you are in the beautiful old town, you have to look for the way or simply ask 😉

The cycle path is in great condition. I've never experienced anything like it before. Everything is asphalted and perfectly flat. Very good signage. But there is a lot of bicycle traffic. Be careful ⚠️.

There are very few public toilets and also "bushes" directly on the cycle path.
