View of Cromer Pier

Highlight • Viewpoint

No matter how many times I've stopped here over the years, I never grow tired of the view of Cromer Pier. An amazing example of Victorian architecture that epitomizes the English seaside. There's a garage nearby to get drinks and snacks if you don't want to get fleeced by the shops serving the "honey pot" tourists, mind you.... the smell of fish and chips will test the resolve of the strongest soul!

Lion's Mouth Road

Highlight • Cycleway

This section of road is a popular National Trust site that passes through some stunning beech woodland. The road is narrow with banks and trees either side and it's a long (just under a kilometre) winding, flowing, thoroughly enjoyable downhill from north to south. The name of the road is attributed to the colour of the leaves in autumn.

I realise I should have stopped to take a photo now... but I was enjoying the road too much!

Felbrigg Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

Felbrigg Hall is a stunning 17th-century country house known for its Jacobean architecture and Georgian interior. Set amongst acres of woodland and orchards, the grounds are also a lovely place to explore.

The estate originally belonged to the Felbrigg family before passing to John Wyndham's family who owned the house for centuries before it was given to the National Trust. Robery Wyndham Ketton-Cremer, who left the estate to the National Trust, was the author of a number of books on the estate and Norfolk.

During winter, the parkland is open from dawn to dusk but the house is closed, tickets cost £7.85. Tickets to the full estate in summer cost £12.40.
