Saint Martin of Tours Church, Vern-sur-Seiche

Highlight • Religious Site

The current church is placed under the protection of Saint-Martin-de-Tours, a famous Roman legionary from the 3rd century who cut his coat in two to clothe a poor destitute. Having become a monk, the inhabitants of Tours forced him to become their bishop.

The church is located on the site of the old building which is said to date back to the 8th century but no trace of it remains. A new church was rebuilt in 1646.
The bell tower was restored after the fire of 1911.
