San River Riverside Path, Sanok

Highlight • Cycleway

A long-awaited investment, which is the development of the riverside boulevard, on the section between the Białogórski Bridge and the Carrefour supermarket car park. An asphalt path has been built, passing under the bridge.

It is a pity that the path ends right after the bridge and there is a sharp right turn uphill onto a path paved with cobblestones, bypassing the car park on the side of the bridge.

It is almost begging to continue the cycle path upstream of the San, as much as the terrain and development allow, to the car park at the Kaufland supermarket and further - to the newly built suspension bridge.

Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok

Highlight • Historical Site

The official name of the open-air museum is the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (MBL).

It covers a vast area on the right bank of the San River, limited from the north by a high escarpment, on which the Biała Góra housing estate is located, and from the east by the forested area of the Słonne Mountains.

A great attraction is the Galician Market Square, where various occasional events are organized, e.g. before the holidays. The open-air museum lives according to its own calendar and is eagerly visited not only by tourists but also by the residents of Sanok.

On the open-air museum area, divided into geographical and cultural sectors, you can visit many wooden buildings and see their equipment. The resourcefulness of the residents of that time, who were able to live and support their families in very modest conditions, without electricity, running water, gas and so many devices that we cannot imagine life without today, is admirable.

The oil sector is a separate attraction.

To get a better understanding of the range of objects gathered here, it is best to use the services of a guide.

A tree gnawed by beavers is growing, or rather drying up, by the bike path along the San, near Rybickiego Street. The tree is far enough from the San that even if it were turned over towards the river, it would not reach the water and would not fulfill the beavers' favorite task of building a dam. It's a pity about the tree. The protective netting did not help.

Currently, the path is partitioned near Sosenki due to the construction of a bridge over the San River. The bridge is to connect Gajowa Street with the extended Sobieskiego Street and ul. Queen Bona. The above-mentioned streets are to meet at the yet non-existent turbine roundabout and provide better communication between the left and right bank of Sanok.
After the bridge is built, the continuity of the bicycle path running along the San River will be restored.

Sanok Market Square

Highlight • Settlement

In the corner of the Market Square, it is worth visiting the historic Franciscan church, where you can cool down on a hot day. There are fountains in the opposite corner. During the revitalization, old trees were cut down, changing the character of this place from a park to a bare "Red Square", as some call it.

Funny statue of the good soldier Schweik. Two adventures act in Sanok. Here the Schweijk has put on a Russian uniform and almost got shot and has got his drunk officer out of the brothel. That is why the strict Catholics regard the statue as a provocation

Sophia- the most beautiful magnolia in Sanok

Highlight • Natural Monument

The tree stands by the clinic building, next to the intersection of Sobieskiego and Piłsudskiego Streets. If there are no frosts, it blooms beautifully and profusely.
