Ruurlo Castle is definitely worth getting off your bike for. This imposing historic structure originally dates from the fourteenth century, but its current appearance is largely due to later renovations …

After a nice visit to the MORE museum in Ruurlo castle, we walked the Liefdespad. Starts near the castle's parking lot.
Nice varied route, not only for lovers to walk 😀😂
Excellent signage 👍

Tonight we walked the atmospheric Liefdespad in Ruurlo, a route of over 5 kilometers through the beautiful coulisse landscape of the Achterhoek. Except for a few parts, where the route runs along a busier road, we enjoyed nature: forest, streams and beautiful views alternated.

Meeting up with a friend is always a good reason to go for a walk somewhere.
This time in beautiful Ruurlo. Chose this route via the Achterhoek app. Beautiful route but a bit muddy due to deforestation work.
Various works of art along the way.
Parked at the Orangerie and had a nice lunch there, followed by coffee and cake.

"Love Route" starts off nicely, but then it veers off into cycle paths, roads, and the station...it eventually ends back in the woods. A shame.

Love path walk in the town of Ruurlo, we have chosen to start at the station, but you can start at different places, a nice walk with nice love benches, a maze, and Huize Ruurlo castle (at the height of the gnome forest you can see the inner man spoil yourself with something delicious at De Heikamp)
