La Roque Saint-Christophe

Highlight • Historical Site

The road which passes at the bottom of La roque Saint Christophe and which runs along the Vézère is really pleasant. We are in the "valley of man" which owes its name to its concentration of Paleolithic sites.

Highlight • River

The valley of the Vézère is also known under the name of "valley of the man" as the concentration of Paleolithic sites is important there. The valley is also very green and bucolic and deserves a long stay.

September 27, 2022,Radtour mit Besuch des Herrenhauses La Salle ❤ in Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère
Today we went again to Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère to visit the "Donjon, Manoir Et Jardin De La Salle", a 12th century dungeon and a 15th century mansion. We were very fortunate to be the only visitors, so we were able to look at the lovingly furnished rooms in peace and enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere of the old walls. g.co/kgs/3yuvmA

The pretty village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère is definitely worth a visit. You can walk through a few dreamy alleys and discover beautiful corners. I particularly liked the beautiful 12th-century church and La Salle mansion (which we toured the following day).

Also on the way is "La Roque Saint-Christophe", a rock face that was inhabited in the Stone Age for about 50,000 …
