The construction of the parish church of Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais in Savonnière dates back to the 12th century.

It is remarkable for its pointed arched Romanesque door, decorated with fantastic animals such as chimeras and griffins.

Opéra de Tours - Grand Théâtre

Highlight • Monument

The Grand Théâtre de Tours houses the Opéra de Tours and was built on the former church of the Cordeliers.

In 1796, the church was transformed into an 800-seat theatre. In 1867, the theater was bought by the municipality but in 1883, a fire destroyed a large part of the building (only the facade and the four walls remain). It was then rebuilt as you can see today.
