Sweden Cross Hartlanden

Highlight • Monument

The probably late medieval cross stone is about 1 km southwest of Hartlanden in the direction of Grasmannsdorf on the old long-distance route between Bamberg and Würzburg (Jakobusweg).
In the maps, this cross stone appears at 320 m above sea level as a Swedish cross. The designation Swedish Cross allows a connection to the Thirty Years' War, which raged between 1618 and 1648. During this time, Hartlanden was probably completely destroyed.
The Kreuzstein is entered in the list of monuments for the town of Hartlanden and was restored in winter 21/22.

Old Town Hall, Burgebrach

Highlight • Historical Site

The town hall not only forms the western entrance to the oval-shaped historic town center (historical egg) of Burgebrach, but also the gateway to the east to the Steigerwald Nature Park.
It was created during the tenure of Mayor Schlegler in 1720 on the site of the "Upper Gate". The old town hall of Burgebrach is the last remaining of the three original town gates.

Kindleinseiche Pavilion

Highlight • Rest Area

The Kindleinseiche was a Gaustadter natural monument. Now only a wooden pavilion reminds of it. On one of the three panels that were attached here was the saying "Here I lie and sleep like a child, until I awake 'and punished the sins'", to which the name probably goes back.

Steigerwald Panorama Trail

Highlight • Trail

The multi-day hiking trail "Steigerwald Panoramaweg" ends here (or if you want: begins). This leads in (officially) nine daily stages from Bad Windsheim to Bamberg, 160 kilometers and about 3,000 meters in altitude have to be mastered.
Also with the mountain bike in about 2-3 days good, but quite demanding to ride.

There are many different cafes. But the Café Villa Remeis is out of the ordinary. According to the will of the former owner Dr. Karl Remeis (died 1882), the house should serve a social purpose, and it does it in the most beautiful way. The villa was leased by the Social Service of Catholic Women. The café employs mentally handicapped people in the service and in the kitchen and offers guests a special café experience on a wonderful spot: with classicist villa, spacious garden, stunning panoramic views, café specialties, delicious cakes and tarts, as well as savory and daily changing lunch.

Holy Cross Chapel Mühlendorf

Highlight • Religious Site

In sight of the development area Brunnleite near Mühlendorf is located in a southerly direction the Holy Cross Chapel in a clearing at the edge of the forest. Here the "Sieben-Kapellenweg" continues through the Kappelholz to Kreuzschuh. The first chapel was already mentioned in 1528 in a document. In 1976, a new chapel was donated, as the old was largely expired. The Holy Cross Chapel had a special meaning in the past as a local place of pilgrimage. Even hermits lived from 1748 in an annex to the chapel.
