Since 2024, there has been a small set of outdoor fitness equipment here. Small signs on the equipment show you the exercises. In the meadow behind it is a shady picnic area with a barbecue.

The lake has something to offer in every season. In summer you can go pedal boating here. In winter we've even walked across the frozen lake.

Rubbenbruchsee

Highlight • Lake

There is a beautiful circular path around the lake (and also into the Natruper Holz and to the airport) and there are also many branches off it.

There are some seating options around the lake. Many also have a direct lake view. That's why they're all occupied on Sundays in the summer.

The Rubbenbruchsee is about four kilometers north-west of Osnabrück city centre. Is an artificially created lake. Footpath for one circumnavigation approx. 3.5 km. There are numerous seating options.

With full sunshine and a bright blue sky, we walked around the lake and enjoyed a cold iced coffee in the café.

There is now a fitness area near the barbecue area.

Today I had an appointment with a good friend, we live some distance apart. What could be more obvious than to meet roughly in the middle. The choice fell on Osnabrück.
First we went for a walk around the Rubbenbruchsee in wonderful weather.
It is an artificially created lake west of Osnabrück that is part of a nature recreation area. …

First done something in Osnabrück, then made a nice walk around the Rubbenbruchsee 😊...

Nice sunny but cold round at -3 to -4 degrees. But the path is very pleasant to walk and there are always nice places to take a break.
You can walk directly along the water or take extra loops through the forest.

Taking advantage of the nice weather, the tracking left me over coffee

We went to the Easter buffet at the café at Rubbenbruchsee. It was very good, and the service was very attentive. Afterward, we walked around the lake and stopped for another ice cream break at the café. It was a very beautiful day with lots of sunshine and lots of people around the lake.
