Cute little park south of the 'avenues' of San Francisco -- every Summer Sunday from June to August the location for the free Stern Grove Music Festival: Bring your picnic and come early to get a spot. Music starts at 2pm, but some aficionados start to put down their blankets and sun chairs as early as 6am for the best spots. sterngrove.org

Twin Peaks - South/Noe Peak

Highlight • Summit

The two second highest peaks in San Francisco are on Twin Peaks, with excellent views of the city in all directions. Mt Davidson is a few feet higher ( komoot.com/highlight/369927 ) but Twin peaks is located closer to the city center. Since 2020 the East road circling around both peaks was closed off to cars and became a fantastic pedestrian/bike space.

The narrow canyon and the lake are a lush and tree-shaded oasis worth exploring. The road can feel a little narrow without shoulder, but has a sidewalk for stopping to see the reservoir/lake.
