Krugzell Church

Highlight • Religious Site

St. Michael's Church was rebuilt in 1500 under Abbot Johann von Riedheim of the Princely Abbey of Kempten, replacing a previous structure. Only the church tower, erected in 1446, remained from the previous building. In 1720, the steeple's gable roof was replaced. After the church was partially demolished, a new construction and expansion took place between 1839 and 1844 under master mason Andreas Häfele. This church building was consecrated in 1847. The church was renovated between 1898 and 1900 and again between 1948 and 1951.
