This sunny Sunday afternoon, I hiked along familiar paths between the Mittlerer Landweg S-Bahn station and Rothenburgsort.

Eichbaumsee, the Dove Elbe river, the Tatenberg lock, Holzhafen, Kaltehofe, and Billwerder Bucht were the highlights of this approximately 12 km hike.

Currently, due to construction work, a small detour is necessary along the Dove Elbe near the water sports center.

There is not a single bench for relaxation or a break on the main dyke for 6 km. Sitting on the grass is impossible because of the ants! But the view from the top of the dyke with water on both sides is beautiful!

Section 5 of the Hamburg Green Ring 2 was too busy with roads in places. The walk across the Elbe bridges was also simply too noisy. The dog parks were well-frequented; apparently, there are several dog daycares in the area. The Kaltehofe Waterworks on the Elbe island was unfortunately closed. I would have liked to have taken a closer look.
