It was lovely to see Chris and Captain the dog down by the canal at Brighouse.
Chris is going to be moored along the canal up to Cromwells and Cromwells lock over the next few weeks.

Cromwell Bottom is regarded as one of the most important wildlife sites in Calderdale. Nestled between the River Calder and the Calder and Hebble Navigation, the wetlands, woodlands and meadows provide a variety of habitats for birds, insects, mammals and arachnids. Right next to the Calder Valley Greenway cycle trail, it is well worth parking up to explore.

The Fall Ings Stones are a series of mile markers this one is at Cromwell Bottom

Ings: low-lying fertile land by a river. In Yorkshire English: "T'watter's gitten ower t'ingses." (double plural)
- The water has got over the ings.
(Peter Wright, Yorkshire's Yammer, Dalesman Books, 1994)

Woodlands Mill Ruins

Highlight • Structure

There was a beautiful building along the canal here I think it was a huge flower mill that used the canals to transport it goods.
We took photos from the Mill across the canal.
The arches were taken from within the grounds of the Mill
