The view of the Marksburg from the rose garden offers an impressive view of the imposing medieval castle, which sits majestically on a hill.

September 24, 2021,Von Sankt Goarshausen nach Osterspai (Rhein Schleife) u. zurück
on September 24th, 2021, last tour of our 3rd day Middle Rhine bike ride. Between the car ferry Boppard and shortly before Osterspai, my Komoot was on stop. We have already ridden the bike path on the Rhine and not flown over the mountain. Otherwise it was an interesting day with many castles.

There was still no sun to be seen, but it felt warmer than yesterday. Strangely, the ferry to St. Goar costs more than those in Rüdesheim and Boppard.

Tour from Lahnstein to the Loreley. Changed to the Rhine side at St. Georg and back via Boppard.
Nice tour, but unfortunately partly not very bike-friendly on the B-roads

And today drove the cycle path on the right bank of the Rhine to the Loreley. Well, the bike path is anything but comfortable. But the official Rhine cycle path is on the left bank of the Rhine anyway. It was nice anyway 😊 God bless my friend 🙏

Unfortunately the tour was too long for the mobile phone! Had to take a second cell phone for the return trip.

We started together in St. Goarshausen and Günter and I ended the tour there again in our cars. It was exactly 77.6 km. In Boppard we changed sides of the Rhine and cycled back to St. Goarshausen via Bornhofen. There are only partial cycle paths and it is not recommended to drive there. The tour was very strenuous because on …

Today, the final leg took us from Bad Ems to St. Goar, and from there by boat to Koblenz.

It was another very beautiful route, always along the Lahn River until it joins the Rhine. Then upstream to St. Goar. We didn't particularly enjoy the Rhine Trail, which always follows the road. But the castles on both sides of the …

It felt like we were always on the "wrong" side of the Rhine. Unfortunately, the bike path is right next to the main road.
