Klingelfels

Highlight • Natural Monument

Nice little rock, located right next to the parking lot so easy to get to. From the Klingenfels, it is still a relatively short distance to the Wasigenstein castle ruins.

The Cross of Peace at Herberg

Highlight • Monument

In addition to the fantastic view, the Maimont is a place steeped in history, not least because of the Franco-German relations.
A fitting place for a peace cross and a joy that it is also located on such a unique hiking trail, the Franco-German Castle Trail.

Wolfsfelsen Rock

Highlight • Other

Steep rock face just before the Petit Arnsbourg. Certainly a top location for climbers, but currently closed (mid-April) because of the breeding season of the kestrels!

Petit-Arnsberg Castle

Highlight • Castle

The Château du PETIT ARNSBOURG was first mentioned in 1335 when the von Wasigenstein brothers received the castle from the Weißenburg Abbey as a fief. At that time it served as a pure mansion with a few changes of ownership. Around the year 1485 the Counts of Zweibrücken-Bitsch received the castle. Under their rule, the Kleine Arnsburg was rebuilt and expanded. During the Thirty Years War the castle was then destroyed and never rebuilt. From the ruins we enjoy a wonderful view of Obersteinbach.
