Very nice place that invites you to linger. The way here is a bit tricky though.

Nassach Castle Site (Katzenschwanz)

Highlight • Historical Site

Today there are only two trenches left, a flat area of approx. 20 m for a building and a few remnants of the wall. The dimensions suggest a medieval small castle.
Since it was less than 500 m as the crow flies from the former Wart castle from the 12th century on the opposite slope, it could also have been a fortified guard post. It is also said that an underground passage led from the castle to the Wart castle.
It is also conceivable that the road did not then lead through the certainly swamped Winterlautertal. A route above the valley via the surrounding hills directly past the facility is more likely. Perhaps it was a kind of “toll booth” and tolls were collected.
It is known that a stone tower used to stand here. As usual at that time, the valuable stones were then installed in the nearby town.
In the Thirty Years' War, the ruin is said to have served as a hiding place for people and cattle when troops passed through the area.
The following was recorded in the Oberamtbuch of Marbach:
K. Württ. Oberamt, Marbach, 1866
About 1/4 hour south of the village stood a castle on a mountain peak above the Lauterthals, of which the moat and some underground walls still exist.

Upper Quarry (Spiegelberg Mining Trail)

Highlight • Historical Site

There was once a quarry here - a sign provides information. The Spiegelberg mining educational trail leads past this point.
Especially in summer there is not much to see due to the lush vegetation. However, the steep quarry walls are clearly visible.

August 20, 2021,Nassach: Wetzsteinstollen, ein lustiges auf und ab
It looks like a short, easy hike. Initially luxurious, gravel, wide paths, but later soapy surfaces on the steep terrain: more strenuous than expected!
