From down here you have a beautiful view of Taufers Castle. If you don't mind a little detour and a few steep, rocky steps, you can also take a tour for little money. The castle was built on a rock in the 13th century and separates the Tauferer Valley from the Ahrntal Valley.

Small but fine menu, typical of the alpine pastures. Very tasty and absolutely reasonably priced. Friendly and fast service.

Long climb over asphalt and gravel to the Weizgruber Alm. Great trails (S1/S2) to Speikboden. The downhill to Sand in Taufers was long and not too difficult (S1).
Great tour from the Hotel Innerhofer team!!

Comfortable to the Weizgruber Alm. Very steep climb after the Weizgruber Alm, path 32, then 27A and finally 27B following the "Panoramaweg Speikboden", including a few pushing sections to the Treyer Alm aka Äuß.Michlreiser Alm. This time we skipped the Daimerweg, which destroys brake discs.

A challenging mountain hike with almost 1,400 meters of elevation gain. With support, it's manageable. From the hut, the ascent from 2,000 meters is another 200 meters along a narrow trail with rocks and roots. Short sections are really narrow and steep. I only managed it by pushing. But otherwise, there are always spots with truly fantastic views of the …
