The sanctuary of Maria Santissima dell'Itria also known as the church of the Holy Trinity or simply the church of the Trinity is one of the oldest in all of Polistena. The church is located in the historic center, precisely on Piazza Bellavista, not far from Piazza della Repubblica. The current church was built after the earthquake of 1783. Inside the church there are numerous works, many of them were however destroyed or seriously damaged in the fire of May 22, 1988, caused by a probable short circuit left by the organ left on. and not from the wooden coffered ceiling. The restoration work ended only in 1996. Externally we remember above all the dome covered with polychrome majolica tiles. The Madonna of the Itria, to which the church is dedicated, is celebrated on 10 July.
