Dessoubre Valley and Val de Consolation

Highlight • Gorge

The Dessoubre has its source in the Cirque de Consolation, at Consolation-Maisonnettes, and meanders through this superb valley. The valley is also classified as ZNIEFF (natural zone of ecological, fauna and flora interest), which means that it is a natural space considered remarkable.
The Consolation site itself is also known for its monastery, viewpoints, waterfalls and botanical gardens.

Girardot Mill

Highlight • Other

Mill of which we find traces from the 15th century which has had the name of Laval mill and Fauvel mill throughout its history. There were then several buildings there.
The flour mill was destroyed after a fire in 1989.
The sawmill, which still exists, closed in 1988 then was restored in 2016 following its inclusion in the historic monuments two years earlier. Only the transmissions are still there, the rest of the equipment having been dismantled when it closed.
The adjoining house which accommodated the owners is today a gîte.

Mont Vouillot Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

This belvedere offers an exceptional panorama of the Val de Morteau, the Swiss Jura and even the Alps on a clear day. You can access the belvedere by car from Les Fins or Morteau, or follow a 7 km loop trail which starts from Les Beuclets and passes through the Bois des Suchaux and the Bois du Fol. The trail is well marked and mostly shaded, with some open field sections. You can picnic at the lookout, where there are several tables and orientation signs. You can also watch paragliders take off or land from the nearby slope. The Mont Vouillot Belvedere is an ideal place to admire the beauty of nature and breathe fresh air.
