Sugiton Cove

Beautiful swimming area, which can either be reached via adventurous trails, or via a direct, easier hiking trail. But walking is hip either way. You can park at the university, which is also easily accessible to the public

Morgiou Cove

Highlight • Canyon

At the end of the 19th century, the port of Morgiou was the main fishing port between Cassis and Marseille, counting then 38 professional fishermen. Today, it is a peaceful and beautiful little cove. You will also find a bar there.

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

It is a balcony path, which offers unique views of the creeks. We really take the eyes. Take your time between the Cancéou and the Col du Renard: in one direction or the other, it's steep!

Beautiful descent to Sormiou

Highlight • Trail

As the sandy beach is extremely crowded in high season, it is advisable to walk a few metres further. There are further bathing opportunities at a small boat dock or at the rocks in between, where you can easily get into the water without it being overcrowded and enjoy the great, super clear water.

September 18, 2026,3 Calanques Tour - Sormiou-Morgiou-Sugiton
Unfortunately my mobile went dead with the battery. Finally it took us 16,1 km to return to our car. The tour is wonderful but 3 sections are critical, if you are not a trained climber. Enjoy!
Hike from the terminus of bus 21 (Luminy university) and arrival at the terminus of bus 22 (Les Baumettes). If you take a solo bus ticket: remember to top it up at Luminy (there is no terminal at the Baumettes terminus).
Sometimes aerial hikes, bring good shoes and good physical condition.

Today we leave the city for the Calanques National Park near Marseille - in English "bays", I think cliffs would be more appropriate. The calanques are closed in mid summer due to the risk of forest fires, lucky for us to be here in spring. We start our journey with tram 3 and bus B1. The ticket is inexpensive, single …

This tour contains very steep climbs and slippery passages. Only attend the tour with experience and sufficient hiking gear. You will be rewarded with a beautiful hike and amazing beaches to swim.
Don't do it in summer. Good condition and sturdy shoes. Not in the rain and wet. If you notice that. it will be the top tour 🧗 ♀️🥾🎒
