By chance, I discovered the Zochauer Heideturm on Google Maps.

I chose a short route, found a parking space for hikers, and started walking.

A cute observation tower, a picnic area, and two benches on the tower to sit on, and it was really pretty.

I was completely alone.

Today just a short "mushroom round" 🍄‍🟫 on the Zochauer Heidepfad in the Königsbrücker Heide, also known as Sandheide. The former military training area has created a wilderness here, which is largely off-limits (except on the hiking trails). From the Heidefpfadturm you have a beautiful view of the Lusatian hills. We will definitely do another round here in the spring …
