Rest area at Tiefental in Reichenau

Highlight • Rest Area

The covered resting place on the Pulsnitz is the beginning (or end) of an exciting hike through the Tiefental.

Welcome to Königsbrück

Highlight • Monument

On the way between Reichenau and Königsbrück on the Via Regia there is a stone embedded in the ground with the inscription "Welcome to Königsbrück". Nothing special, but still a small highlight :-)

Tiefental near Königsbrück

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

A fantastically untouched nature. With luck you can see beaver, the forest has some jungle character and the sun light is indescribable.

This round is worth a recommendation. At the beginning you walk along the Pulsnitz and on the way back past a beautiful orchard.

So that was a successful trip. These 10 km were really nice. The paths through the forest were often not that wide, so somewhat unsuitable for larger groups. But alone or in pairs, this route is perfect.

Before we visited the beautiful Tiefental, today it was the turn of the quite impressive memorial on the Scheibisches Berg. With the current events, we had even more intense thoughts there than would have been the case anyway.
Then we covered a very nice part of the Way of St. James to Reichenau and found an unusual place on the …

In yesterday's heat, I somehow couldn't think of a sensible comment about the tour. But I wanted to mention one thing, many thanks to Bernhard Sander for the inspiration, he described the tour very well.
During the tour, the heat was surprisingly bearable, as you mostly walk in the shade and there is the opportunity to cool off your feet …

Beautiful route in beautiful nature. Now that it's autumn, the whole thing has its own appeal. Much seems to be untouched. Due to the foliage on the paths, these are sometimes hard to see. The path at Tiefental is also easy to walk. The problem only started on the way back. Since we didn't want to walk back the same …

Sunday, we have time, so it's hiking day 🥾

Today we're heading to Königsbrück, inspired by a tour from another hiking friend.

On a leisurely and easy walk through the Tiefental valley, we see spring just around the corner, traces of beavers, and fallen trees that have completely blocked the riverbed in places.

Even though we've already done this route twice, it's always beautiful and we wanted to show it to the "Get off the Couch" hiking group today. But first things first. As always, we started at the free P+R car park at Königsbrück train station and the route quickly leads towards the mill race and then along the so-called Whispering Alley. …
