Großenbach is a district of Hünfeld with about 850 inhabitants. It is located in the northeastern direction three kilometers from Hünfeld at an altitude of 270 to 310 m above sea level. Großenbach is crossed by the brook Haselstein, which rises at Haselstein. The hazel flows into Hunfeld in the Haune. The water of the hazel once powered three mills. Coming from the B84, you have the most beautiful view of the place.
The cath. Parish Church is dedicated to St. Anthony the Hermit.

St. Ottilia Chapel on Lochberg (Lochkapelle)

In 1855 the construction of the hole chapel had begun; but it was not completed until 1895.
In 1898 the tower was erected by a donor and the building was thus completed.
The hole chapel was renovated in 2002/2003. In addition to the documents and coins from the construction of the tower in 1898, new documents, newspapers and coins in the euro currency valid since January 1st, 2002 have been placed in the restored spire.
