The Rissbach tunnel has a length of almost 7 km and is carried out under the Isar in the direction of Walchensee by means of a culvert.

The Walchensee is great. When the weather is nice, it gets quite crowded despite Corona.
In the evening you don't have to pay an "entrance fee" (ie toll).

Walchensee East Shore

Highlight • Lake

The absolutely most beautiful and quietest part is the traffic-free east bank between Urfeld and Niedernach, on the other sides there is unfortunately moderate to heavy traffic.

December 30, 2024,Jachenau - Walchensee Runde über Sachenbach und Niedernach
After the tours of the last few days, there was no motivation to tackle many meters of altitude today. It's good that this relaxed route just forced itself on us 😜. The lake, the weather, the water, sometimes as smooth as glass, extremely photogenic, and nature's ice crystal art, fantastically beautiful.
☝️Goal achieved in 2024, 75 km of altitude achieved!

Whether on the bike or on foot... what a great landscape. And as an encore in the best weather. .... that's how you can endure it 😁

So there's not much to say today! Just 👀 watch and 🤩 enjoy!

Just this much: the altitude difference is not correct, it was probably only around 200.

Tour 23 from Outdoor Regional Tölzer Land
This weekend I wanted to do something different than usual and checked all the train connections to Munich. So I picked this tour and took the ICE to Munich at 7 and then continued on to Lenggries with a delay. The bus to Jachenau only runs once a day and picks you up …

Very nice circuit, if there is snow I recommend starting from Jachenau Berg Grödel, the path to the parking lot is in the shade and it was very slippery this year

Walchensee
"Zapfig" means very cold here, and Lake Walchensee can be just as cold. After all, it's almost 200 meters deep and one of the largest lakes in Bavaria. Nestled in the mountains, it attracts water sports enthusiasts from all over Upper Bavaria. When the weather's nice, the thermals create strong winds. But the long lakeshore is also popular for …

This tour leads from Jachenau to Lake Walchen, along the quiet side of the lake and back again. The route is easy and not very strenuous. The highlight is the section on the shore of Lake Walchen.
The lake is currently extremely low in water, which affects the appearance. Nevertheless, I found a beautiful, lonely bench in the wonderfully warm …

Let's go... started at the Schützenhaus in Jachenau via field and meadow paths the forest trail to Dingebach am Walchensee, amazing panorama with a view of the Herzogstand 🏔 long distance along the lake to Niedernach, then through the forest back to Jachenau 🙋🏼‍♂️🥾
