The West Coast's only heated, sea water swimming lagoon. Open 10:00am - 5:45pm (Friday - Monday) from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The perfect spot to enjoy a day at the beach in salty, calm, shallow water that is always warmer than the ocean.

Bill & Bob Meistrell

Highlight • Monument

Along with his twin brother Bill and business partner Bev Morgan, Bob Meistrell helped develop and market the first commercial neoprene wetsuit. This evolved into the Body Glove surf brand, which by 2013 was a $200 million annual enterprise and a leader in the field.
The Meistrell twins have always been in the water since their early lifeguarding days in the South Bay. In 1951, the twins received a prototype diving wetsuit from Bill’s friend Bev Morgan. Morgan manufactured the first commercial wetsuits and soon opened Dive N’ Surf in Redondo Beach. O’neill claims to have invented the neoprene wetsuit in 1952, just one year before the Dive N’ Surf brand wetsuit was introduced.

King harbor Marina is the old style California marina with wooden docks. The marina is a friendly, neighborhood like place, with a family-like feeling. During storms there is a bit of a surge as the docks are close to the sea wall that can experience waves over the seawall.. The marina is walking distance to many restaurants and shops at the pier. Visitors can enjoy a charming waterfront destination offering breathtaking ocean views, fresh seafood restaurants, and outdoor activities, sailing, paddleboarding, and waterfront dining while soaking in the marina's laid-back coastal vibe.
