View of Haus Diepental

Highlight • Viewpoint

A beautiful ambience right next to a biotope, just great. The service staff: super friendly and competent. However, the food and drinks offered are in the upper third in terms of price and quality.

Varied hiking tour, not difficult (it only goes uphill briefly from time to time). The Diepental dam has not existed in its old form since 2016. Heavy rains caused flooding in 2011. The dam was dismantled and it was renatured. A lake has remained, however, and the overgrown depression of the original dam is still clearly visible.

A very nice tour, lots of nature and tranquility. It's hard to believe that we're close to Leverkusen, I would have expected it to be in the Eifel. Worth it!

At first I was a bit irritated by the settlement, noisy expressway and the like, but then it became more and more green and tranquil. The path right next to the water, the dam and the greenery is beautiful. At one point I decided not to continue fighting through the thicket, I had already had too many scrapes by then …

3 out of 5 **-A very shady tour, which was chosen precisely for this reason on today's hot May 2nd. The landscape isn't particularly varied. The paths are easy to follow, but almost never unpaved. Except for the turnaround section in the east, where you change river valleys, the route is entirely flat. This turnaround section is not suitable for …

A very nice, scenic tour. Parking at the e.g. CONFERENCE CENTER is not possible as it is private. Therefore drive on about 500 m, P. Weltersbachtal, space for about 10 cars.

Green Hell – birdsong – whispering streams. And yet I wasn't more thrilled. Busy streets, closed paths, and nasty road surfaces. ☹️

We were out and about in a beautiful area today in warm, humid weather. One highlight is the Sensory Forest. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to admire everything thoroughly. The theme for 2025 is tolerance. There are interesting works of art on display on this topic. I'll take another look at them soon. A lovely day of hiking! 😍🌸

Between the years, I traditionally visit my sister and her family in North Rhine-Westphalia. After all the feasts and rainy lazy days, there was a pretty little round today with just the two of us girls.
