June 15, 2025,Malerweg Etappe 3: Ostrauer Mühle - Schrammsteine - Affensteine - Kuhstall
Since the first two stages, each about 25 km long, were quite exhausting, I decided to do shorter stages of around 15 km from now on. Today I started at the Ostrauer Mühle campsite, where the bus and the Kirnitschtalbahn from Bad Schandau also stop. Then I climbed a few steps and ladders up to the Schrammsteine, where I sat …

Our 4th stage of the Malerweg was the hardest and a big challenge for me. There were steep stairs and ladders. It went up and down mountains. Nevertheless, it was the most beautiful stage for me. The ladder to heaven was super hard for me, but I did it.

Third day on the Malerweg in Saxon Switzerland. Today it went high 🤗

Again and again we passed steep ladders, narrow crevices with stairs, were able to enjoy the phenomenal all-round views and had a lot of fun doing it.

The third day was tough: first ascent to the Schrammsteintor, then climbed over the Wildschützensteig to the Schrammstein view. Hiked along the ridge, then down over the Affensteine into the Kirnitzschtal valley. Then a little relaxed to the cowshed, up the sky ladder and finally crawled through the tailor's hole 🙂 a great day!

A great stage with gigantic views, many steps, stairs and ladders and great encounters along the way!
Oh yes, English has established itself as the second official language here 😆 or I've noticed that a little practice is good for my English!

The path leads downhill through the forest to the Ostrauer Mühle and into the Kirnitzschtal. The Kirnitzsch is crossed and the Mühlweg goes …

Today everything went a little more smoothly. We were greeted directly with sunshine, which turned into rain during the day.

On this stage you will be rewarded with many highlights in the form of views.

However, if you are traveling with a dog you have to take a detour in some places. Definitely on the Jägersteig. In other places it …
