"The Rampart of Remembrance of the Soldiers of the 56th Greater Poland Infantry Regiment - a monument in the form of a stone rampart located on the southern edge of Krotoszyn, at the intersection of Bolewski and Gajowa streets, in the forests of Dąbrowy Krotoszyńskie.
The rampart commemorates the military achievements of the 56th Greater Poland Infantry Regiment, which on September 1, 1939 fought heavy battles against the Germans in defense of Krotoszyn in the area of the Municipal Forest complex. Construction of the monument began on September 24, 2004 as part of the celebrations of the anniversary of the September Campaign. Stones are added on an ongoing basis. A commemorative plaque was placed next to the monument on September 1, 2005. Next to the rampart there is a commemorative boulder with a plaque reading: 1.IX.1939r. To the Defenders of the Homeland soldiers of the 56th Greater Poland Infantry Regiment in tribute to the inhabitants of the Krotoszyn region. September 2004."
