View of Riodeva

Highlight • Viewpoint

Riodeva has narrow and steep streets, with beautiful facades of popular architecture and abundant samples of the local ethnographic heritage. A good place to park and start is the village plain, without entering the urban area, at the crossroads where the swing park is. Siliceous sand and kaolin mines abound in the Riodeva environment, dedicated to the extraction of raw materials to make porcelain, paints, ceramics, glass and other products of common use. The route leaves the park along the paved track that goes up to the town, surrounds the farmhouse to the right and in the upper part follows the paved Camarena de la Sierra path.

Fuente La Cuadralleja

Highlight • Rest Area

we had water here in 05/2024 (the fuente is a few metres above the road!) - nevertheless, we recommend bringing enough water from the valley by yourself for the night in the Refugio Collado del Buey and the next day over the Javalambre!

Collado del Buey Shelter

Highlight • Mountain Hut

This refugio at 1,720 metres altitude on the Sierra de Javalambre is basic, but the roof is completely new and the interior has been restored. It has a special charm.

La Puebla de Valverde

Highlight • Settlement

Puebla de Valverde is a small town with a lot of charm and beautiful views at the foot of the Sierra de Javalambre. It has the ruins of a wall and the portals of Valencia and Teruel from the 12th century.
