Sanctuary of Santa Maria Delibera

The Sanctuary of Santa Maria Delibera is located in Villar San Costanzo, in the province of Cuneo, surrounded by beech, birch and chestnut woods at 740 meters above sea level. Its history is closely linked to the Benedictine Abbey of San Costanzo al Monte, on which it depended ecclesiastically. The local populations, influenced by the monks of the abbey, initially erected a simple pillar in honor of the Madonna on this plateau. Later, the sanctuary also became a summer residence for the abbots.
The current building has a Romanesque apse and a portal of fine workmanship, offering visitors an artistic experience in a suggestive natural context.
