The old railway line, which has been converted into a cycle path, is easy to drive and offers wonderful views of the mountains.

Schelleberg / Former Moncucco Station

Highlight • Historical Site

The former Schelleberg train station is located directly on the Brenner-Sterzing cycle path - a disused railway line - and has been left to the ravages of time. Today he stands on the cycle path as an impressive contemporary witness.

July 17, 2023,Radfernweg MV - Tag 5.2 - vom Brenner nach Sterzing
So, now I'm in Bella Italia 😃 On an old railway line, now a cycle path, I went rapidly downhill to Vipiteno. Tunnels were passed through and old, abandoned train stations were along the way. Tomorrow we're going to Bruneck 😎🚲

If only, if only.... Greetings from Loddar,

The plan was: park the car at the Brenner, drive down via Gossensass and Sterzing to Brixen and then pick up the car again by train and return to the Pustertal.

The first obstacle: Pustertal-Brenner a good 2.5 hours 🐌 But well, we've arrived.

From Innsbruck it is best to take the train to BRENNER as there is no cycle path. From BRENNER the cycle path is a dream.
