Grand Ducal Mausoleum (Großherzogliche Grabkapelle) Karlsruhe

The Grand Ducal Burial Chapel is located in the Fasanengarten (Pheasant Garden) on Klosterweg and Lärchenallee. It is the final resting place of 17 Zähringen members and was never a church.

It was built on the orders of Grand Duke Friedrich I of Baden and his wife Luise after the early death of their son Ludwig Wilhelm (1865-1888). Construction took place from 1889 to 1896, based on plans by Friedrich Hemberger. It was opened on June 29, 1896.

Hermann Volz (grave monuments), Wilhelm Sauer (busts on the crossing pillars), and Hermann Binz (griffin heads in the crypt) were among those involved in its furnishings. Two fountains are located to the side of the burial chapel.

Since 1946, following the destruction of the Protestant city church, the family members originally buried there have also been buried in the crypt of the burial chapel. There are a total of 18 coffins in the crypt; see the crypt plan for details.

The Wildparkstadion is a football stadium in the Baden-Württemberg city of Karlsruhe. It is the center of a complex of several sports and practice courts, a tennis court and other sports facilities in the Karlsruhe Hardtwald. The main user is the football department of Karlsruher SC. It will no longer be used as an athletics stadium because the athletics facility was partially removed as part of a field transfer. The facility was built in 1955 in place of the old FC Phoenix Sports Grounds of 1921 and originally had 55,000 seats. This number has been reduced several times by changing regulations and expanded by conversions, currently has 28,762 seats and standing room. It is the property of the city of Karlsruhe and is leased to its users.
