Kamienna River Dam

Highlight • Structure

The dam on the Kamienna River, which forms the Brodzki Reservoir, is an interesting recreational spot in the Świętokrzyskie Province. It was built in the 1960s to regulate the flow of the river and provide water for nearby industrial plants. Today, the reservoir serves a recreational function, attracting anglers, kayakers and water lovers. The surrounding forests and hilly terrain create ideal conditions for cycling and hiking. It is worth visiting this place for the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views, especially at sunset, when the water reflects the warm colors of the sky.

Kamienna Water Dam in Brody

Highlight • Monument

The stone water dam in Brody was built in 1840. The preserved fragment of the historic spillway is a remnant of the concept of a "continuous plant of iron factories on the Kamienna River" implemented by Stanisław Staszic (General Director of Industry and Crafts in the Congress Kingdom) in the 1830s.

St. Władysław Parish Church in Kunów

Highlight • Religious Site

The parish church of St. Władysław was built from 1625 to 1642, funded by the then parish priest, Father Szymon Koch. The church was consecrated by Bishop Z. Czyżowski on October 8, 1656.

The building has three naves, with the central nave raised above the side aisles. The chancel has a semicircular arch. Among the furnishings are the noteworthy 17th-century main altar and 19th-century side altars, crafted from sandstone by local stonemasons. The pulpit and baptismal font were constructed in the 17th century. A brick bell tower, designed by Wojciech Gerson in 1896, stands adjacent to the church.

The Stations of the Cross were placed in the wall surrounding the church cemetery at the initiative of Father Fudalewski. They were made by Szpetkowski's company in Warsaw in 1896.

Sanctuary of Our Lady in Kałków-Godów

Highlight • Religious Site

The initiators of the oratorio commemoration of the tragedy of Poles living peacefully until September 17, 1939 in the eastern borderlands of the Republic of Poland are the inhabitants of Vilnius and the inhabitants of the north-eastern borderlands.
Combatants of this group came forward with a similar postulate to build an Oratory for the Soldiers of the AK Volhynian District in the area of Golgota in Kałków-Godów.
These people wanted a place where Our Lady, the Sorrowful Queen of Poland looks after, for a place of common prayer, and God willing, also for friends and memories
